Deepika Sastry, M.D.

Dr. Sastry is  originally from the Midwest but grew up in Texas and Florida. She earned her B.S. at Pennsylvania State University and M.D. at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She completed her residency in adult psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City, followed by a Fellowship in Public Psychiatry at Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons, also in New York.  In 2013, she earned her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Dr. Sastry is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. She is active in professional societies at the local and national level and has worked in a variety of settings, including academic medical centers to psychiatric emergency rooms, community mental health agencies, and Veterans Affairs hospitals. She has special interests in the biopsychosocial model of care, women’s mental health, patient advocacy, and physician well-being.

In her spare time, Dr. Sastry enjoys the outdoors, biking, doing yoga, dancing, reading, and cooking vegetarian and vegan recipes.
